Overview

This project required that I design the layout for a two spread magazine story.

Palm Creek is a small town in North Central Florida. A local magazine runs stories on small towns and wanted to feature Palm Creek in their November issue. The story covers general information about the town and about its up coming citrus festival.

Process

Research

For this magazine layout I wanted to capture the charm of an old Florida town while maintaining a professional feel. I started out by generating the text using Claude.ai

To create my mood board I found photos that I felt matched the vibe of the town and examples of magazine layout I felt could work.

Iterations

I began experimenting with different layouts and once I found one I liked I added in the images and formatted the text.

The layout of the first spread stayed largely the same with some minor details changing. The second spread changed significantly through each iteration as I found it difficult to visually connect the pages.
